Free Consultation What do I need an Estate Plan? What is missing from my Estate Plan?

The Planning Process

Step One: Initial Meeting and Interview

-          Discussion of Client’s goals.

-          Discussion of estate planning options to meet those goals.

-          Attorney will give Client a quote for a flat fee for the suggested estate plan that meets Client’s needs (fees are usually expressed as a range).

Step Two: Design and Drafting

-          Attorney will design the documents discussed in the Initial Meeting and Interview

Step Three: Review of Documents

-          Once documents have been drafted, Attorney will set a meeting time for review with client.

-          Attorney will review the documents in detail with Client, explaining each article and section.

Step Four: Signing Meeting

-          Attorney and Client will determine a date and location for signing and notarizing documents.

Step Five: Dealing with Changes

-          Client’s documents should be reviewed annually to determine the appropriateness of changes (i.e. changes in guardians for minor children, adding trustee beneficiaries, changing trustees and beneficiaries due to divorce or marriage).

-          Attorney offers free telephone consultations regarding the need for up-dating documents.

-          Attorney offers a Client Maintenance Program which allows clients a peace of mind, knowing that the estate plan will always remain current.

Step Six: Administration of the Estate

-          Administration of the estate should be guided by an attorney.
